What "Third-Party Certified" Means
A third-party certificate is a report issued by an independent gemological laboratory that has no financial relationship with the seller. The lab tests the stone, documents its properties (weight, colour, clarity, origin where determinable, and critically, treatment status), and issues a report under their own name and reputation.
This is different from an in-house grading slip, which many sellers issue themselves. Our certificates come from labs whose sole business is testing, not selling. Their reputation depends on their accuracy, not on making stones seem better than they are.
The result: you can verify the certificate independently online, without taking our word for anything.
How to Verify a Certificate Online
- Find the certificate number: it is listed on the product page under "Certification".
- Visit the lab's website: each certificate shows which laboratory issued it.
- Enter the numberin the lab's certificate verification portal.
- Compare the report to what is listed on our product page. They should match exactly.

Why It Matters Astrologically
Vedic astrology texts, including the Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra, specify that a gemstone must be genuine and untreated to effectively transmit the energy of its associated planet. The logic is that the stone's crystalline structure, formed over millions of years under specific conditions, is what creates the resonance.
Heat treatment, irradiation, or fracture-filling alters the stone's internal structure. A heavily treated stone may look beautiful, but according to classical Vedic astrology, it may not deliver the full planetary benefit.

How do I verify a certificate online?
Every certificate from a recognised lab has a unique certificate number. Visit the lab's website (e.g., IGI, IIGJ by GJEPC, IGITL, or the issuing lab's portal), enter the certificate number, and the full report appears. The number is listed on every Jeevan Ratna product page.
What is the difference between your standard certification and IGI / IIGJ / IGITL?
Our standard stones come with a free third-party gemological lab certificate — included with every purchase at no extra cost. IGI, IIGJ by GJEPC, and IGITL are nationally and internationally recognised premium labs. For those who want certification from one of these labs, it is available as a paid add-on at exactly what these labs charge — we do not earn a margin on that.
Does an untreated stone really deliver better astrological results?
According to the classical texts of Vedic astrology (including BPHS), a gemstone must be genuine and free from treatment to effectively transmit planetary energy. A heat-treated stone has had its structure altered. Our certification documents treatment status so you know exactly what you are buying.
Can I buy a stone without certification?
No. Every stone on Jeevan Ratna comes with a third-party certificate as standard. We do not sell uncertified stones because we cannot stand behind what we cannot verify.
